After an hour long search on internet I found this blog. It works bloody well. I changed that SATA option in my BIOS settings. Thanks mate, you are a champion.

I am trying to load XP on Inspiron 1720 and get message that drive not recognized. I can’t make any changes to my bios to ata or sata mode? Any suggestions please. I am on Bios Version A07 (02-03-2008)

Hi All,

Today i am facing a problem while installing Web Cam Manager in my laptop inspiron 1420 DELL. Operating system - VISTA (Basic Home).
Problem - As provided Webcam CD by DELL, i started installing by the provided CD, it starts installing and stops at 14% completion, by this i am not able to install and system hangs with out proceeding forward.

Unable to install Web Cam Manager in my PC.

Hi,

I got everything done, but my webcam is not working, I have tried R55105, but my windows xp SP1 can’t even install. There is one from dell recommended R160320. I can install it, but the software can’t detect the webcam. Anyone can help?

I install xp on cause my vista got messed up but now I cant get online it says is missing network is there a driver I’m missing? email me shawty67 at hotmail

If you already install XP to inspiron 1420, and already install all driver that suggested from this site, and still have a problem, means that you install XP SP3. means that the suggestion is only for XP SP2.

the audio will not work. and only state PCI at device manager. for this problem, download ftp://ftp.dell.com/audio/R108276.EXE
and install. it will fix your problem.
